Tom Mathers

MSK Physiotherapist

Tom’s passion for physio started on the touchline supporting amateur and semi-pro athletes and led to gaining experience with a premier league academy. Seeing how quickly athletes want to return to action, and how much persistence effective rehabilitation requires, has stayed with him throughout his career.

Tom studied Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University before completing his MSc in Physiotherapy at Keele University.

His philosophy is simple: people recover best when they understand what’s going on and feel involved in their own treatment plan. He explains things clearly, sets meaningful goals with his patients, and adapts each plan as they progress.

Tom has also spent several years working as a carer, an experience that taught him the importance of patience, adaptability and listening. In the clinic, this means taking the time to understand what each person wants to achieve through their recovery, whether that’s returning to a Sunday league match, lifting their grandchildren or getting through the working day without pain.
