Physio & Chiropractic Care for Disc-Related Pain

At Achieve Health we recognize how disc related pain, such as a bulging disc, herniated disc or “slipped disc ” can impact your daily life. Our physio & chiropractic services in Birmingham and Solihull offer an approach to managing and alleviating this pain. Here’s how our strategy can bring about changes:

When you experience disc related pain it means that the discs situated between the vertebrae in your spine have been damaged or shifted out of place. This condition can manifest in ways resulting in a range of symptoms;

  • Disc Bulge: A disc bulge occurs when the disc slightly protrudes exerting pressure on nerves and causing mild discomfort.
  • Herniated Disc:  Also referred to as a slipped or ruptured disc this occurs when the inner gel like substance of the disc leaks out irritating neighbouring nerves and leading to pain, numbness or weakness.
  • Degenerative Disc Disease: Over time discs can lose their ability to be cushioned properly. This may result in pain and limited mobility.

Our physio & chiropractic approach is centred on identifying and resolving the root cause of your disc related pain. Whether you are facing a bulging disc, herniated disc or degenerative disc disease our skilled physios & chiropractors are proficient at identifying these problems and offering tailored treatments to ease your discomfort and support healing.

We employ techniques that aim at realigning the spine, releasing tension in tissues and improving spinal alignment.

These therapies aim to ease pressure on the discs, alleviate nerve irritation and enhance spinal function. By targeting trigger points and restoring mobility we strive to offer long term relief from pain associated with disc issues.

Maintaining posture and movement is essential for managing discomfort related to discs. Incorrect posture and movements can worsen disc problems resulting in heightened pain and unease. Our physios & chiropractors in Birmingham and Solihull evaluate your posture and movement patterns offering advice on how to enhance them. This proactive approach aids, in reducing pain and preventing harm to the discs.

Alongside hands-on therapies we stress the importance of incorporating rehabilitation exercises to strengthen the muscles that support your spine. These exercises can enhance flexibility, alleviate discomfort and assist in the recovery of injured discs. Our chiropractors will design an exercise regimen tailored to your requirements aiding you in developing resilience and enhancing your spinal wellbeing.

At Achieve Health we recognize that each individual is unique. We develop customised treatment strategies based on your symptoms and health objectives.

Our comprehensive approach ensures that we not tend to your discomfort but also strive to prevent future issues promoting long term wellness for your spine.

At Achieve Health our physio & chiropractic care provides a non-invasive solution to pain related to discs. By addressing the causes and utilising hands-on treatments along with specific rehabilitation exercises we aim to help you experience lasting relief and an enhanced quality of life.

I’ve had appointments with both Alex and Emily at Edgbaston/Moseley and have been amazed by the improvement since beginning with them. They have been able to both relieve muscle pain/tightness whilst giving me a bespoke training plan to improve my future health. I would certainly recommend them.

I have been having treatment from Jezzi for for a couple of years now for different issues. She is able to pinpoint the areas causing the issues and work on them with long term plans to prevent them from reappearing. I have seen different physios over many years but I have to say her treatment is the best for me.

I have been going for physiotherapy at Achieve (Edgbaston) for over 4 years and continue to do so. I have seen Rickie, Jezzy and Mitzi. They are all great. Achieve was recommended to me and I have recommended them to others seeking out a physiotherapist. Definitely give them a try if you are looking for a physio.

I’ve been seeing Rick at Achieve Health over the past few months and he’s helped tremendously with my back pain. I highly recommend Achieve Health who provide a holistic assessment and a good mix of physical therapy with self-care advice to keep potential future issues at bay.

‘Highly recommending’ Achieve Health may be a massive understatement… I am currently seeing Rickie and Beth for Physiotherapy and deep tissue work and I am super impressed! Not only are they both immensely knowledge and professional, but the teamwork between them also means my sessions are specific, targeted and I am always aware of the steps needed in my rehabilitation, which I have not experienced at other physiotherapy establishments! Having a gym where they can show and watch my rehab exercises is also a massive plus for me! Thanks Achieve!!!!

Just over a year ago I decided to finally see a physio after 6months of back pain at 25! I couldn't stand up properly, sit down or lie down. I went to see Jezzie and she pretty quickly narrowed down the possibilities and got to work. Over the past year she's methodically brought me back to my best, something i've not felt for a few years, and offered plenty of exercises/workout plans to continue on my own. Now I go for maintenance appointments every quarter. Jezzie is conversational and knows her job and physiotherapy like the back of her hand, she has fountain of knowledge which puts me at ease as a client.
