A Better Approach to Managing Osteoarthritis Pain

Alongside physiotherapy, standard anti-inflammatory injections have long been a go-to treatment for managing joint pain in osteoarthritis (OA), but recent advancements in medical science have shown that, in many instances, they are no longer be the most effective solution. While steroids offer temporary relief, they don’t address the root cause of OA and may lead to long-term joint damage. Fortunately, there are now better, more sustainable options available that not only relieve pain but also support your joint’s overall health. Why consider our injections therapy?

A More Advanced, Regenerative Approach to Joint Care

In recent years, Collagen Stimulating injections have gained significant attention for their ability to improve the symptoms of osteoarthritis in a more comprehensive way. Both treatments are effective on their own, but when combined, they create a powerful solution that helps reduce pain, improve joint function, and even slow down the progression of OA. Let’s break it down:

  • Collagen Stimulating: This cutting-edge therapy uses the healing properties of your own blood to stimulate tissue repair. It’s packed with growth factors that encourage the natural healing process, helping to regenerate damaged cartilage and reduce inflammation. This means that with this therapy, your body is working to heal itself, rather than simply masking the pain.
  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA): HA is a naturally occurring substance in the joints that acts as a lubricant and cushion, allowing for smooth, pain-free movement. As we age, or as OA progresses, HA levels decrease, leading to stiff, painful joints. By replenishing the HA in your joint through injections, we can restore that much-needed lubrication and cushioning, helping you move more comfortably and with less pain.

The Power of Our Injection Therapy

While Collagen Stimulating Injections and HA are each powerful on their own, the combination of these two therapies has been shown to deliver even better results. Here’s why:

Collagen stimulating therapy reduces inflammation and promotes healing, while HA restores lubrication and cushioning to the joint. Together, they not only reduce pain but also improve the overall health of your joint.

Patients who receive the combination treatment often experience improved mobility and function, making it easier to go about daily activities without discomfort.

Unlike steroid injections, which provide only short-term relief, our combined injection therapy works on multiple levels to offer longer-lasting results. This means fewer injections over time and more sustained improvements in how you feel and move.

Many patients who choose our combined injection therapy have found that they can delay or even avoid the need for more invasive treatments, like joint replacement surgery.

Drawbacks of steroid injections

Steroid injections are commonly used to alleviate pain and inflammation in arthritic joints, but they come with potential negative effects, particularly when used long-term or frequently. Here’s a brief overview of the damaging impact of Steroid Injections in Arthritic Joints:

Repeated steroid injections have been linked to the acceleration of cartilage breakdown, worsening arthritis over time. Steroids can impair the body’s ability to repair cartilage, leading to faster joint degeneration.

Studies show that patients receiving frequent steroid injections are more likely to require joint replacement surgery due to the accelerated damage to joint surfaces.

Steroids can weaken bone structure around the joint, increasing the risk of fractures.

Steroids may cause thinning of tendons and ligaments, weakening the overall support of the joint.

While steroids offer short-term relief, they do not address the underlying cause of arthritis and can lead to a dependency cycle for pain management.

Benefits of Collagen stimulating injections for Musculoskeletal (MSK) Pain

This therapy uses your body’s own platelets, which are rich in growth factors, to speed up the healing process. This is especially beneficial for soft tissue injuries, such as muscle tears, tendon damage, or joint issues.

It not only helps repair damaged tissues but also reduces inflammation in the injured area. This can lead to long-term pain relief for people suffering from MSK conditions, without relying on pain medications.

This therapy has been shown to be highly effective for both chronic conditions like tendinitis, bursitis, or osteoarthritis, as well as acute injuries such as muscle strains or ligament sprains.

Our injections are non-surgical, meaning there’s no lengthy recovery time. Since it’s derived from your own blood, the risk of side effects or allergic reactions is minimal.

Unlike corticosteroids or painkillers that provide short-term relief, this therapy addresses the root of the problem by stimulating tissue regeneration. This leads to long-lasting improvements in mobility and pain levels.

This therapy helps repair and strengthen damaged tendons, muscles, and joints, leading to enhanced mobility and improved physical function over time.

Why Our Injections for Musculoskeletal Pain May Be Right for You

If you’ve been living with persistent MSK pain in your tendons, muscles, or joints, this therapy may provide the relief you’ve been searching for. Whether you are an athlete dealing with sports-related injuries or someone managing everyday wear-and-tear, injections of concentrated growth & repair factors offers a natural and minimally invasive treatment option that promotes healing and long-term recovery. I’ve had appointments with both Alex and Emily at Edgbaston/Moseley and have been amazed by the improvement since beginning with them. They have been able to both relieve muscle pain/tightness whilst giving me a bespoke training plan to improve my future health. I would certainly recommend them.

I have been having treatment from Jezzi for for a couple of years now for different issues. She is able to pinpoint the areas causing the issues and work on them with long term plans to prevent them from reappearing. I have seen different physios over many years but I have to say her treatment is the best for me.

I have been going for physiotherapy at Achieve (Edgbaston) for over 4 years and continue to do so. I have seen Rickie, Jezzy and Mitzi. They are all great. Achieve was recommended to me and I have recommended them to others seeking out a physiotherapist. Definitely give them a try if you are looking for a physio.

‘Highly recommending’ Achieve Health may be a massive understatement… I am currently seeing Rickie and Beth for Physiotherapy and deep tissue work and I am super impressed! Not only are they both immensely knowledge and professional, but the teamwork between them also means my sessions are specific, targeted and I am always aware of the steps needed in my rehabilitation, which I have not experienced at other physiotherapy establishments! Having a gym where they can show and watch my rehab exercises is also a massive plus for me! Thanks Achieve!!!!

Just over a year ago I decided to finally see a physio after 6months of back pain at 25! I couldn't stand up properly, sit down or lie down. I went to see Jezzie and she pretty quickly narrowed down the possibilities and got to work. Over the past year she's methodically brought me back to my best, something i've not felt for a few years, and offered plenty of exercises/workout plans to continue on my own. Now I go for maintenance appointments every quarter. Jezzie is conversational and knows her job and physiotherapy like the back of her hand, she has fountain of knowledge which puts me at ease as a client.
