Dermal Fillers In Birmingham

As we age, our facial fat pads reduce in size and volume causing the skin to droop and loose its structure.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers can help to restore lost volume, add structure and rehydrate the treated areas, creating a more smooth youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers (such as lip fillers) can help replace the hyaluronic acid that we lose as we get older – this is a naturally occurring sugar found in every part of our body. By replacing what we have lost, we can regain a youthful structure and glow. The main products we use are from the Juvéderm range, an award-winning brand that gives excellent results. All HA dermal fillers are temporary and usually last between 6-12 months, sometimes longer. Dermal filler results can last longer and be even more impressive when used in combination with anti-wrinkle injections (when indicated).

Results

Results visible immediately and will completely settle within 2 weeks. Fillers tend to last between 6-12 months.

What is the procedure?

The procedure itself, usually takes ten to twenty minutes to carry out and the discomfort is minimal as very fine needles are used. Also, no recovery time is involved and the results are noticed within 7-10 days.

The skin around the treated area will look smoother and less wrinkled. The upper third of the face is where the best results are obtained; the crow’s feet (around the eyes), the wrinkles and the frown lines between the brows and on the forehead. Due to the results of the treatment, many patients report that they are feeling more relaxed as frowning reduces. However, the results are not permanent; it is normal procedure to repeat the treatment every 3 – 4 months to maintain and build on the results.

Dermal fillers are much less invasive than alternative surgical facial rejuvenation procedures such as face lifts or implants. They require no incisions or stitches and so recovery is much quicker.
